About the Fox Valley Sibling Support Network (FVSSN)
|
FVSSN Mission:
To create the opportunity for individuals who have
brothers and sisters with special needs to understand, accept and thrive in
their unique family situation and in the community. |
 |
Currently
the organization carries out its mission by
-- 1. planning and operating Sibshops, regularly
scheduled workshops for children ages 6-12 who have brothers or sisters with
disabilities or long-term illnesses and SuperSib events for teens,
-- 2. providing parents and children access to information on sibling
issues.
-- 3. training for facilitators and other interested volunteers.
The Fox Valley Sibling Support Network was established in 1998 as a 501(c)3
nonprofit organization to focus on the issues faced by individuals who have
brothers and sisters with disabilities. The FVSSN currently offers a nationally
certified, award winning* program called Sibshops, for the over 7000
siblings age 6 to 16 in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin.
